Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is the major clinical affiliate and teaching hospital of Weill Cornell Medicine. NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine, an 824-bed facility, is centrally located in a collaborative medical community that includes the Hospital for Special Surgery, Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and The Rockefeller University. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provides science-based diagnostic services of the highest quality in anatomic pathology and laboratory medicine; pursues innovative basic and clinical research dedicated to improving the diagnosis and management of human disease; and promotes an integrated scientific and clinical educational experience for pathology residents and fellows and Weill Cornell medical and graduate students.

Computational Biology Masters Program

The M.S. in Computational Biology (MS-CB) program presents a unique, rigorous training program, equipping students with theoretical understanding and practical mastery of state-of-the-art applications of computational approaches in biology and medicine. The faculty from Weill Cornell Medicine, Sloan-Kettering Institute, and Cornell Tech are world-class leaders in computational biology research and applications.

Meyer Cancer Center

The Meyer Cancer Center is a collaborative, multidisciplinary research enterprise located at Weill Cornell Medicine, in affiliation with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technologies, nearly 250 basic, translational and clinical researchers from Weill Cornell and Cornell University’s Ithaca campus work together with colleagues at other institutions – including Memorial Sloan Kettering, Columbia University, Rockefeller University and New York Methodist Hospital – to take fundamental discoveries from bench to bedside, and back again. The Center’s mission is to ensure that patients can have immediate access to emerging new therapies in a supportive and caring environment, while training future researchers and recruiting leaders in cancer research and clinical care.

Englander Institute for Precision Medicine

The Englander Institute for Precision Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is a translational research hub, which opened in 2013 and is under the direction of Dr. Olivier Elementro. The EIPM team includes clinicians, basic scientists, pathologists, molecular biologists and computational biologists. These physician-scientists are directing their collective expertise and wealth of knowledge to identify the molecular underpinnings of disease and spur the discovery of novel therapies.

Rickman Lab at Weill Cornell Medicine

The Rickman Lab at Weill Cornell Medicine studies how DNA methylation and epigenetic changes contribute to neuroendocrine prostate cancer development.
